Power Of Nothing

Leonardo da Vinci an artist from whom I've learned a lot and have great respect once said, “Among the great things which are found among us the existence of Nothing is the greatest”.

Nothing or as I like to say, No-Thing is not what we think it is. Before something can exist it has to first not exist. Before it becomes a thing, it has to first be not a thing, or nothing. Before it can have a shape or form, it has to first have none of the former things. Based on this requisite, it's safe to say No-thing is the predecessor of all things.

Yea I know, it's kind of crazy to think about. I've tried discussing this idea with some friends but the conversations end up going nowhere or now here.

Exactly, that frustration is what led me to where I am now, here to this song "Power Of Nothing'. Words are powerful, but they have a limit. There are things words simply can't express. Nothing is certainly one of those. Words themselves are things so trying to fit the vastness of nothingness in a thing is like trying to fit a mind into a brain. Somehow it just doesn't work. It seems impossible.

That is the beauty of poetry, it is designed to do the impossible. Poetry attempts to capture that which cannot be captured. “Power of Nothing” is me being a poet doing what poets do. It's given me a chance to explore Nothingness which brought me vis-a-vis with its raw power and vastness.

I can ramble on for hours trying to explain my experience with Nothing but I can guarantee you it'll get us nowhere. However, with "Power of Nothing", I explore what we commonly call reality as it relates to nothingness and how it influences our everyday lives without our realizing it. My exploration didn't yield any answers to the questions I started with, but it did give me a framework from which to look at my life and the actions I choose to take while living it.

I suggest you listen for yourself to get a better idea of what I'm talking about. Without that, all of this verbal meandering means nothing. Haha... All pun intended.

You can listen to it below. As always, I take criticism very well so please feel free to be as honest with your feedback as you can.

Enjoy,

Logan.
