Afterglow

Hey, what's up?

I hope you had a good week. This week's song is about identifying and accepting your brilliance. When I was in grade school, the kids who used to get good grades always got teased. Kids used to brag about how many red marks or failing grades they had on their report cards. Naturally, I lied about my grades or just never talked about them. This lie continued for years. One teacher would always ask why I was dimming my light. I never knew what he meant and didn't care to ask.

It didn't occur to me until years later that I was sabotaging myself. This week's song "Afterglow" is a record of the thoughts that ran through my head at that moment of realization. The one when I realized that how a person sees themselves is the only spotlight showcasing their personality. How others perceive a person is really just an afterglow. That whole time in grade school, my spotlight was dim. I can assure you, as this song attests to, that is no longer the case.

A healthy dose of self-confidence can be a good thing. What do you think?

Be Brilliant!

Enjoy,

Afterglow
