Nigredo (First Act)

Hey, what’s up?

I hope you had a good week.

Despite all the knowledge we’ve accrued as a species, it awes me how much of a mystery we are to ourselves. We have no idea what we are or who we are. We don't know why we are, when came to be, or how we came to be.  It’s equally amazing that we don’t need to answer these questions in order to engage in the human experience. We've made it this far without them.

My question is, will having these answers, or even just working to find them potentially improve the whole experience of being human? This brings us to this week’s song. A triumphant ode to overcoming the cognitive dissonance of living a physical life as a spiritual being. This is about the morning after the soul’s dark night, and the ensuing journey to keep reconciled the gaping hole between certainty and uncertainty.

You’ll note there arises in this reconciliation an unshakable faith and certain confidence in the sameness of all things. A sameness like that which exists between a creator and his/her creations.

Before there was light, darkness already was - this is Nigrego (First Act).

Enjoy!

Logan
